Signs in Mississauga: storefront signs, channel letters and graphics

Madix is based in Mississauga, at 1195 Meyerside Drive near Pearson Airport, so this is our home city. From plazas in Meadowvale and Malton to offices near the City Centre and shops in Streetsville and Port Credit, Mississauga businesses come in every size, and so do their signs.
Here’s an overview of the signs and graphics Mississauga businesses use most, and what to know before you order.
Storefront signs
Your storefront sign is the first thing customers see, and in Mississauga’s many plazas it also has to work alongside your neighbours. The most common options are:
- Channel letters: individual 3D letters, usually illuminated. The go-to choice for plazas.
- Light box (cabinet) signs: a lit box with a printed face, often a more budget-friendly illuminated option.
- Dimensional letters: non-lit cut letters for a clean, architectural look.
- Fascia panels: printed or lettered panels that cover the sign band.
Not sure which fits? Read Channel letters vs light box signs.
Channel letters
Channel letters are the most popular storefront sign we install in Mississauga. They can be front-lit (light shines through the face), halo-lit (a soft glow on the wall behind) or both. Many plazas set sign criteria that call for channel letters so the whole building looks consistent, so check your lease first.
Window graphics
Window graphics turn glass into advertising space. They’re popular with restaurants, clinics, salons and retail stores across the city:
- Full-colour graphics for promotions and products
- Perforated (one-way vision) film with a graphic outside and a clear view inside
- Cut vinyl for hours, logos and phone numbers
- Frosted film for privacy in offices and clinics
Wall graphics and murals
Inside, printed wall murals and cut vinyl lettering can turn a plain wall into a branded space: a reception area, a restaurant feature wall or an office boardroom.
Interior and lobby signs
Mississauga has a large office and industrial base, especially around the airport. Lobby logos, dimensional letters, halo-lit reception signs and wayfinding help visitors find their way and make a strong first impression.
Vehicle graphics
If your business is on the road, your vehicles are moving signs. Full and partial wraps, fleet graphics and cut vinyl lettering keep your name in front of customers across Peel and the GTA.
Sign permits in Mississauga
Most permanent exterior signs in Mississauga need a sign permit under the City’s Sign By-law 0054-2002 (as amended). Applications are handled by the City’s Planning and Building Department, and if a sign doesn’t comply, a sign variance is decided by City Council. The City recommends designing your sign to comply with the by-law from the start.

Working with a local sign company
Because we’re based in Mississauga, we can visit your site, take measurements and photos, design your sign, prepare the permit drawings and apply for the permit, then build and install everything ourselves.
