About channel letter signs

Channel letters are individual 3D letters, usually with metal sides (returns) and an acrylic face, lit from inside with LEDs. Because each letter is its own piece, your logo and font are reproduced exactly, and the sign reads clearly from a distance.

We help you choose the lighting style, letter depth and mounting method that suit your building and the city's by-law, then send a proof before anything is built.

Options

Lighting options

01

Front-lit

Light shines through the coloured face of each letter. The brightest and most common option.

02

Halo-lit (back-lit)

Letters stand off the wall and light washes behind them for a soft outline. Popular for offices and premium brands.

03

Front and back lit

A lit face and a halo together, for maximum presence at night.

04

Non-illuminated

Dimensional letters with no lighting, for daytime businesses or sites with strong existing light.

05

Mounting

Mounted directly to the wall, on a raceway that hides the wiring, or on a backer panel shaped to your logo.

Popular with
  • Plaza storefronts
  • Restaurants open late
  • Office buildings
  • Reception logo walls

FAQ

Questions we get asked

Front-lit or halo-lit?

Front-lit letters are brighter and easier to read from the road. Halo-lit letters give a softer, more upscale look and work best on a smooth wall. We can mock up both on a photo of your building.

Do I need a permit for my sign?

Most permanent exterior signs in the GTA need a sign permit from the city. Mississauga, Brampton and Toronto each have their own sign by-law with rules on size, placement and lighting. We survey the site, prepare the drawings and handle the permit application for you.

How much does a channel letter sign cost?

It depends on size, materials, lighting and how the sign is mounted. Send us a photo of the location and rough measurements, and we will give you a written quote.
